Everything you need to know about Maine Coon kittens, our breeding programme, the adoption process, and life with your new companion.
Maine Coons are one of the oldest and largest natural cat breeds in North America. They are known for their dog-like loyalty — many follow their owners from room to room, greet guests at the door, and even learn to play fetch. Their semi-wild appearance (tufted ears, lynx tips, massive bushy tails) is matched by a gentle, patient temperament. They are sociable, rarely aloof, and adapt well to families, children, and other pets.
Males typically reach 6–9 kg (13–20 lbs) and females 4–6 kg (9–13 lbs). Maine Coons are slow to mature — they don’t reach full size until 3–5 years of age, which means you get to enjoy a kitten phase that lasts longer than most breeds. Body length (including tail) can reach 100 cm, making them one of the longest domestic cat breeds in the world.
Consistently rated one of the most family-friendly breeds. Maine Coons are patient and rarely aggressive, even with small children. They tend to get along well with dogs and other cats, especially when introduced properly. We provide a scent blanket to families with existing pets to ease the introduction before your kitten arrives home.
With proper care, Maine Coons typically live 12–15 years, and many exceed this. Regular veterinary check-ups, quality nutrition, annual dental care, and keeping them as indoor cats all contribute to a long, healthy life. Our 3-year genetic health guarantee reflects our confidence in the longevity of our breeding lines.
Many do — it’s one of the breed’s quirks. Maine Coons are known to dip their paws in water bowls, play with running taps, and some even enjoy a supervised bath. Their coat has a slight water-resistant quality, a nod to their origins as working cats in the cold winters of Maine.
Maine Coons are chatty but not demanding. They tend to chirp, trill, and chirrup rather than yowl — a soft, musical communication style that owners find endearing rather than disruptive. They will often “talk back” in conversation, making them feel remarkably interactive.
Our 3-year health guarantee covers all hereditary conditions including HCM, SMA, PKD, and hip dysplasia — one of the strongest guarantees offered by any Canadian breeder.
All our breeding cats are tested for every condition known to affect the Maine Coon breed: HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) via annual echocardiogram performed by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist; SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) via DNA test; PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) via DNA test; and Hip Dysplasia via OFA-certified X-ray. Full parental test results are provided with every kitten.
We offer a 3-year genetic health guarantee — one full year longer than the industry standard. This covers all hereditary and congenital conditions diagnosed within 3 years of birth. If a covered condition is confirmed, we provide a full replacement kitten from our next available litter. See our Health Guarantee page for full terms.
All kittens receive their full FVRCP vaccination series (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia) at 8 and 12 weeks, plus deworming and a full health examination by our licensed veterinarian before leaving our care. Complete vaccination records are included with your kitten.
Yes. Every kitten is microchipped before going home. The chip is registered in your name and we provide all the information needed to keep the registration updated. Microchipping is included in the adoption price — no extras.
HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) is the most common heart condition in cats and is a known risk in the Maine Coon breed. Responsible breeders screen for it rigorously. We test all breeding cats with annual cardiac echocardiograms — not just a one-time DNA test — because HCM can develop later in life. This annual commitment is what separates serious breeders from casual ones.
Yes. Our kittens are raised inside our home — not in an isolated cattery environment — so they are accustomed to household sounds, children, handling, and daily routines. Litter training begins naturally at 3–4 weeks. By 12–14 weeks, they are confident, curious, and well-adjusted.
Maine Coon kittens from health-tested, registered breeders in Canada typically range from $1,500 to $3,500 CAD depending on lineage, coat colour, gender, and breeder reputation. Our pricing reflects the comprehensive health testing, genetic guarantees, and lifetime support included with every kitten. Contact us for current pricing on available and upcoming litters.
A $500 CAD deposit secures your chosen kitten and removes them from availability. It is applied toward the total purchase price. The deposit is 95% refundable before the sales contract is signed, and 100% refundable if your kitten is found to have a health issue. The remaining balance is due only on collection or delivery day — you never pay the full amount upfront.
Our sales contract is a legally binding document that protects both you and Noble Maine Coon Kittens. It outlines the kitten’s details, pricing, health guarantee terms, delivery arrangements, and both parties’ rights. Both parties sign and retain copies. It’s your legal assurance that everything agreed upon is documented and enforceable.
Yes. If you’re looking for a specific colour (silver tabby, black smoke, blue), gender, or trait (polydactyly, extra-large male), we maintain a dedicated waitlist. A fully refundable $500 waitlist deposit holds your place. You’ll be notified when a matching litter is born, receive updates as the kittens grow, and have 24 hours to confirm once your kitten is identified — typically around 4–6 weeks. See our Adoption Process page for full waitlist details.
All kittens leave our care at 12–14 weeks of age — fully vaccinated, dewormed, and health-checked by our veterinarian. If any health concern arises, we keep the kitten with us until they are 100% ready. We will never release a kitten early to meet a schedule.
Every Noble Maine Coon kitten comes with: full vaccination records, a licensed vet health certificate, 3-year genetic health guarantee, microchip and registration, a kitten starter pack (current food, care guide, comfort blanket), a scent blanket for multi-pet homes, first month pet insurance, and lifetime breeder support.
Contact us as soon as possible. Cancellation terms are clearly outlined in your sales contract. We handle all cancellations with compassion and will always explain exactly what refund applies and when. We understand circumstances change.

Yes. We offer nationwide delivery across Canada via insured professional pet transport, halfway meet-ups at a mutually convenient location, and personal collection from our cattery in Hampstead, Calgary. All transport complies with Canadian federal animal transport regulations. See our Delivery & Collection page for full details and pricing.
We only use professional, insured pet couriers experienced with live animal transport. Kittens travel in climate-controlled, comfortable conditions with water and a familiar-scented blanket. We do not ship via cargo on commercial flights. Every transport is tracked and we stay in contact with you throughout the journey.
Yes, and we encourage it. Collection allows you to meet our cats, see the environment your kitten was raised in, and receive hands-on care guidance directly from us. Collection is by appointment. We are based in Hampstead, Calgary.
Please contact us as early as possible to reschedule. If the kitten must be held at our cattery past the agreed collection date, a care fee of $25 per day applies to cover food, litter, and veterinary monitoring. This is outlined in your sales contract.
Maine Coons have a semi-long, silky coat that is less prone to matting than many long-haired breeds. We recommend brushing 2–3 times per week with a wide-toothed comb or slicker brush, paying attention to the chest mane, belly, and behind the ears. During seasonal shedding (spring and autumn), daily brushing is ideal. Regular nail trimming, ear cleaning, and dental care round out the grooming routine.
We recommend a high-protein, meat-first diet — wet food as the primary meal, with a quality dry food as supplement. We’ll include the exact brand and food your kitten has been eating so you can transition gradually over 7–10 days, reducing the risk of digestive upset. Maine Coons benefit from large-breed kitten formulas to support their extended growth phase. Fresh water must always be available; a cat fountain encourages hydration.
Yes — keeping your Maine Coon indoors is a condition of our health guarantee and is in the best interest of your cat’s safety and longevity. Outdoor cats face significantly higher risks from traffic, predators, parasites, and infectious disease. Maine Coons are extremely well suited to indoor life and will be fully entertained with climbing structures, interactive toys, and enrichment activities.
We recommend a phased introduction: keep your new kitten in a separate room for the first 3–5 days so they can adjust without feeling overwhelmed. Allow pets to smell each other under the door, then swap bedding between them. We send a scent blanket ahead of your kitten’s arrival for families with existing pets, so the scent is already familiar when they meet. Gradual, supervised introductions almost always result in peaceful cohabitation.
For pet kittens, we require spaying or neutering by 6 months of age, as outlined in the sales contract. This is a condition of the health guarantee. For Maine Coons specifically, some veterinarians recommend waiting until 5–6 months to allow adequate development. We’ll discuss this with you at handover and are happy to advise.
We welcome this question — it’s exactly the right one to ask. We provide full parental health test documentation, a legally binding sales contract, a licensed veterinarian’s health certificate for every kitten, a transparent and documented adoption process, and verifiable client testimonials. We are happy to arrange an in-person visit to our cattery by appointment so you can see our environment and meet our breeding cats firsthand.
Yes — bi-weekly photo and video updates are standard from the moment your kitten is reserved. You’ll see milestones including first steps, first grooming, weight gain, eating solid food, and vet visits. We keep you genuinely connected to your kitten’s early life, not just send a single “ready to go” message.
You are notified immediately. You then have the choice to proceed with the kitten (if the issue is minor and treatable), select a replacement kitten from our next available litter, or receive a full refund of your deposit. We never place a kitten we are not confident about, but if something unexpected arises, your interests come first.
Lifetime support — no expiry date. We are available by phone, text, and email for questions about health, behaviour, nutrition, grooming, and anything else that comes up. We genuinely love receiving updates, photos, and videos of our kittens in their forever homes. You become part of the Noble Maine Coon Kittens family.
We’re available 7 days a week and happy to answer anything — whether you’re just exploring or ready to reserve your kitten today.
